WESLACO – Police have closed off a portion of Frontage Road after a vehicle accident in Weslaco.

The accident, which also sparked a small grass fire between Frontage and Expressway 83, happened near north Border Ave.

It’s unknown how many vehicles were involved.

Authorities are currently rerouting drivers to a back road while they clear the scene.

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew saw scattered fragments of what may have been from the crash. A vehicle was also seen being towed from the scene.
