Authorities Investigating Deadly Car Crash in Brownsville
BROWNSVILLE – DPS troopers responded to the scene of a fatal crash in Brownsville.
DPS Lt. Johnny Hernandez said a white 2016 Chevrolet Malibu struck a pole on Houston Road, near North Vermillion Avenue.
Hernandez confirmed two people were killed in the accident. The driver, Martha Itzel Martinez Garza, 18, of San Benito, and passenger Jose Guadalupe Camacho, 18, died at the scene.
The DPS spokesperson said Garza was headed east on Houston Road. We're told she lost control, the vehicle went airborne, and it struck a light pole.
