Edinburg Animal Center Calls on Community’s Help to Adopt, Foster

EDINBURG – An overcrowded Rio Grande Valley animal shelter has no cages for dogs and are in desperate need of the community’s help.
An increase in animal littering is forcing them to make tough decisions.
In the past 14 days, Palm Valley Animal Center says they’ve seen approximately 1,039 animals being dropped off.
The shelter wants to see 150 animals adopted and 50 others fostered each week.
Only until Tuesday, the center is waiving adoption fee, a $50 spay or neuter and microchip fee, rabies vaccination and 30 days free pet insurance.
The center is working towards becoming a no-kill shelter; this requires them to save the lives of 90% of all the animals admitted into the shelter, which cannot be done without the community’s help.
