Ema Petkovic season-high 26 kills leads UTRGV to win over Incarnate Word

The UTRGV volleyball team took down Incarnate Word at the UTRGV Fieldhouse on Thursday afternoon during their School Day celebration.
The Vaqueros took the win in four sets over Incarnate Word to improve to a 3-0 record in conference play, having only dropped one set over the first three games.
The game featured a crowd of over 2,000 young students from across the Valley that were invited to cheer on the Vaqueros.
"They were are seventh player," UTRGV outside hitter Ema Petkovic said of the kids in attendance for School Day. "You just have that adrenaline and then you get that energy that you don't know you even have."
Petkovic shined the brightest in the victory with 26 kills, her first 20+ kill game as a Vaquero.
Martina Franco also had a strong showing with 18 kills for UTRGV in the win.
The Vaqueros will stay at home this Saturday as they host Houston Christian back at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. It will be another 12:00 p.m. start for the team.
