MCALLEN – The fight for a McAllen man to keep his family’s dogs continues.

Juan Carlos Lopez says his family owns three dogs and only one is a certified service animal that helps him cope with cerebral palsy.

Property owners gave Lopez 15 days to get rid of the other two dogs, or face eviction.

Lopez claims he has documents to prove all three dogs are service animals, but hasn’t been able to show them to property owners.

He explains the dogs help his mother.

"She is a survivor from cancer and they provide her with emotional comfort when she suffers panic attacks and all that stuff," says Lopez.

He says he will try to speak with the property owners in the next week.
