WESLACO – Thousands of migrants are making the journey from Mexico City and heading to the border.

KRGV’s Valerie Gonzalez spoke with a former newspaper reporter, Gabriela Trevino, who has interviewed those in the migrant caravan to learn more about them.

Several migrants shared their personal experiences with Trevino.

Some say they were driven out of their own countries because there wasn’t any work.

A 33-year-old Honduran father says his home was destroyed, along with 30 others, when families were threatened; a 31-year-old Honduran mother says she had to leave her daughter behind.
