Alamo library calls on local artists for Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit
A library in Alamo is inviting local artists to submit work for a Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit.
The Sgt. Fernando De La Rosa Memorial Library is accepting entries in a range of art forms, including canvas, pottery, sculptures and 3D art.
"Our main point is to make it a safe space, a safe place for everyone," assistant library director Jessica Aguilar said. "We want to make sure everyone feels like they are seen. And so by us bringing in this artwork from the community, it gives people a place of comfort and belonging."
A committee will select which pieces are featured in the exhibit.
The exhibit runs Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
Artists must submit their work by Sept. 14.
