Doctors Recommend Getting Flu Vaccine before Peak Season
WESLACO – Rio Grande Valley doctors are encouraging everyone to get the flu shot now that peak season is around the corner.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, flu cases increase from December through February.
Daniel Ortiz, a physician’s assistant, says even if you get the vaccine you still need to take steps to protect yourself.
The CDC says if the flu is not treated, certain complications can arise, including pneumonia requiring intubation.
