Free Wi-Fi coming to all Brownsville city parks
Free Wi-Fi is now available at two parks in Brownsville, and the city said their remaining parks will also soon provide the service to the public.
It’s all thanks to state grants, and a partnership with the company Omni-Lit Fiber.
The free Wi-Fi is currently available only at Linear and Dean Porter parks.
"Our high-speed internet is coming through the city, so we are adding it in our public domain, and it is an exciting initiative to improve the quality of life,” Brownsville Parks and Recreation Director Sean De Palma said.
According to De Palma, while the Wi-Fi is free, it is not available 24/7. It will only be available during the regular park hours of operations.
The city said they will be adding Wi-Fi to five parks in the downtown area. The city said it will take about two years to get all city parks online.
