Hidalgo County Precinct 3 is waiving brush drop-off fees following a recent storm.

Residents can drop off brush at either of the two collection sites in Precinct 3 for free through Aug. 14, 2026.

Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Commissioner Everardo Villarreal is urging people not to leave brush on the side of the road to help prevent future flooding.

"It's very important that you bring the brush," Villarreal said. "We're gonna maybe be expecting more rains in the near future, and that brush could cause a clog  that can flood your subdivision."

The brush collection sites are open Monday through Saturday.

The fee waiver applies only to residents who live in Precinct 3.
