Raymondville man sentenced after killing 70-year-old husband
A Raymondville man was sentenced on Thursday to 26 years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with the death of his husband, court records show.
Bernabe Vanegas Jr. was arrested shortly after his husband, identified as 70-year-old Emmanuel Alexander Lagpacan, was found dead at the Raymondville Amigos del Valle location on Jan. 27, 2025.
The Raymondville Police Department said foul play was involved, and Vanegas was identified as the suspect.
Police declined to provide a motive and a cause of death.
According to court records, Vanegas is receiving jail credit for time served.
