The State of the Team
HOLLYWOOD, CA - It's that time again! NFL football is back. Training camps open on Monday. The Dallas Cowboys are back in California with high hopes after a spectacular season in 2016. Those hopes might be dashed as a result of a number of off the field incidents that could force player suspensions by the NFL. At the top of a possible suspension list is second-year running back Ezekiel Elliott. The Ohio State product powered the Cowboys' offense in his rookie season. Now he's facing scrutiny for a pair of incidents that could sideline him during the season. CHANNEL 5 Sports Director Joel Villanueva is in California and reported live on CHANNEL 5 NEWS at 10. He focused on the Cowboys' State of the Union message from team owner/general manager Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett on Sunday. Here is Joel's report.
