RAYMONDVILLE - Willacy County is starting to make progress on their storm dome shelter.

The storm dome was supposed to be built in 2013, but it was put on hold due to a lack of funds.

Willacy County Commissioner Eliberto Guerra said they‘re working on negotiating contracts for its construction. They are also working with the Willacy County Housing Authority to help cover the funds.

The project is estimated to cost $2.5 million.
