McAllen ISD prepares for active shooter training
McAllen ISD police officers are kicking off their yearly active shooter training.
It will be going on for the rest of the week.
It is state-mandated training that focuses on rapid response, which includes taking steps to eliminate the threat, address injuries, and stop bleeding.
More than half of the school district's 62 police officers are training this week. The rest will train in August.
