Owner of Puppy Burned with Oil Will Not Face Criminal Charges

HARLINGEN – The Cameron County District Attorney says a man who threw cooking oil on a puppy will not face criminal charges.
According to the investigation, the man did not see the puppy when he threw out the hot oil.
District Attorney Spokesperson Victoria Cisneros explains the owners tried to treat the dog for the burns and says there’s no evidence that the man did it with criminal intent.
The dog was turned over to the Harlingen Humane Society for treatment and to help find it another home.
