WESLACO – Two people have been arraigned for animal cruelty following the negligence of their 13-year-old dog.

Rosita Cantu and Elias Castro are facing $20,000 bonds.

Weslaco police received complaints Sunday and removed the dog soon after.

Both will be transferred to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s for booking.

The dog has been placed in a foster home and is recovering.
