Adoption fees being waived for dogs at RGV Humane Society due to lack of space
Dog kennels are over capacity at both locations of the Rio Grande Valley Humane Society.
According to a spokeswoman with the shelter, they need fosters and adopters as soon as possible, or the dogs at the Mission and Harlingen locations will be put down.
“Harlingen has over 70, and then Mission has over 120 dogs,” shelter spokeswoman Maria Villagomez said. “We have been [a no kill shelter] for almost four years without having to euthanize any dogs for space, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the community comes forward.”
All adoption fees for dogs are being waived, and fostering a pet is always free.
