BROWNSVILLE – A Rio Grande Valley school district is doing more to protect student privacy on social media.

The Brownsville Independent School District limits the interaction board members can have with students.

During Tuesday's board meeting, Brownsville ISD Board of Trustees created some new limitations on how board members can interact with students.

This change aims to protect students while putting parents' minds at ease.

Alfonso Gutierrez, spokesperson for Brownsville ISD, says board members can no longer take pictures of kids when visiting any school campus.
