BROWNSVILLE – City leaders in Brownsville are taking steps to repeal a plastic bag ordinance, which comes after a recent Texas Supreme Court ruling.

Monday night’s vote was unanimous but city commissioners will have to vote on it again before it is officially repealed.

The ban remains in place but is not being enforced.
