California Man Wanted for Sex Offense Arrested at Hidalgo Port of Entry
HIDALGO – A 33-year-old California man wanted for a sex offense is now in custody after crossing into the country.
He was arrested Thursday, Apr. 10 after returning from visiting family in Mexico.
Francisco Alejandro Ortiz Gonzalez, a U.S. citizen from Oakland, California, was referred to secondary inspection where Custom and Border Protection officers conducted a biometric verification.
Officials say law enforcement databases confirmed the man was wanted for a felony sex offense and continuous sexual abuse of a child in Oakland.
The 33-year-old was turned over to Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office custody.
