CON MI GENTE: Lupe Saenz One-Man Enterprise
WESLACO - One Valley man has his own weekly television show that airs locally, a radio broadcast that airs nation-wide, and another radio show for a station in San Antonio.
Lupe Saenz does it all; he's cameraman, producer, writer and even talent.
His TV show is about showcasing conjunto music, a Hispanic tradition that he believes is being lost.
He also has a radio show on the internet that plays across the United States.
Plus he also does a weekly radio show in San Antonio.
In his teenage years he was a migrant farm worker, and for a while he was a radio disc-jockey on a Valley radio station.
Then he went to war in Vietnam.
On the final segment of his show he changes to his military hat to talk to the veterans.
His television show airs every Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
