The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation and the city of Edinburg are breaking ground on a new Workforce Resource Center and golf course clubhouse.

The Edinburg EDC calls the dual-purpose project a $7.2 million investment. It is funded through a 2019 bond program and $2 million in sales tax revenues from the corporation.

The groundbreaking is set for Monday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Ebony Hills Golf Course, located at 300 W. Palm Drive. 

The project aims to connect residents with career opportunities and provide workforce recruitment, job training and employer support services for local businesses.

The new Ebony Hills Golf Course Clubhouse will feature four golf simulators and an expanded cart barn.

The project also includes the development of a multipurpose facility housing the Workforce Resource Center and a dedicated workforce training space, the demolition of existing facilities, and the enhancement of existing parking areas.

Construction is expected to be completed in summer 2027.
