A road construction project is changing how parents drop off and pick up students at Bryan Elementary in Mission.

Mission is renovating Bryan Road from Ursula Street to Business 83. When school starts, parents dropping off students must enter through Ash Drive and exit through Elm Drive or use Elm Drive to drop off as well.

Police will be at the school to manage traffic flow and ensure safety.

"We are still going to have our police officers directing traffic at the traffic signal on Stewart and Business 83," Mission Co-Interim City Manager Juan Pablo Terrazas said. "We are going to have extra patrol officers in the area to make sure the traffic doesn't block the driveways in the residential areas."

The first day of school at Bryan Elementary is Aug. 11, 2026. The city said parents should plan ahead for pick-up and drop-off.

The Bryan Road project is expected to wrap up next month.
