The Mission Fire Department has two new engine trucks, each replacing equipment that is 15 years old.

The trucks cost about $2 million and were paid for through the city's general fund.

One engine will go to the fire station on Inspiration Road. The other will go to the station on the corner of Glasscock Road and Military Highway.

"All these engines will be our primary engines. They will have the capability of carrying a thousand gallons of water. They'll be having ALS medical equipment to serve our community. So, they're going to be our primary responses," Fire Chief Mike Silva of the Mission Fire Department said.

The department is also expecting a new ladder truck to arrive next month.
