Families Worried Amid Expected Airport Expansion in Cameron Co.

BROWNSVILLE – Residents say they’re not ready to move out ahead of plans to expand the Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport.

The airport director, Bryant Walker, says they’re waiting for approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to buy out homeowners.  

Meanwhile, Brownsville resident Maria Antonia Delgado tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS she and her son, who is wheelchair-bound, will have a difficult time finding somewhere to go.

KRGV’s Daisy Martinez explains why the 82-year-old worries she won’t get a return investment on the work she’s put into her home over the past three decades.
