MCALLEN – The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office said one of their deputies was arrested by the McAllen police department for injury to a child.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra said the deputy, Emilio Zavala, was arrested Saturday morning. Guerra said the incident is not related to his duties for the sheriff's department.

Zavala is on administrative leave pending further investigation.
