Mission, TX (KRGV) — A judge rejected a request to reduce bond for a man charged with murder in a wrong-way motorcycle crash in Mission.

Apolonio Perez faces a murder charge in the death of John Alonso. His bond is set at more than $3 million.

Investigators say Perez was drunk and trying to get away from Department of Public Safety troopers when he slammed his motorcycle into Alonso's motorcycle in May.

Alonso's parents had asked the judge to keep the bond the same ahead of the reduction hearing.
