BROWNSVILLE – While some spend their holiday weekend with family, others find a home at the local shelter.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spent the day at the Ozanam Center where staff prepared for a large crowd.  

We spoke with one of the 73 people currently staying at the shelter.

“I'm happy in this place… For the moment, I need this place for sleeping or for food,” says Alejandro Prieto.

The manager of Ozanam Center, Adela Campos, says beds are still available for anybody who needs shelter.

The shelter is located at 656 N. Minnesota Avenue in Brownsville.
