BROWNSVILLE – A Brownsville woman who was part of a money-laundering ring that netted more than a million dollars will spend the next four years in prison.

Veronica Ofelia Magallanes pleaded guilty to money laundering.

She and five of her family members admitted they funneled money into several bank accounts to pay human smugglers.
