Man Accused of Impersonating Lawyer Behind Bars

MCALLEN – A McAllen man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a lawyer.

The Donna Police Department tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS a woman reported paying a lawyer over $7,000 to represent her in a case. 

Police say Abner Campos was arrested on Wednesday.

He allegedly identified himself as an attorney for a McAllen firm. Investigators confirmed that he did not work there.

Campos faces charges of "falsely holding oneself out as a lawyer," a third-degree felony.
