MERCEDES – Administrators for a Rio Grande Valley school district are looking to help with a problem next door.

Their neighbor says she believes the people trespassing on her property are students, who are leaving their trash, tearing down her security camera and even doing drugs.

Last week, CHANNEL 5 NEWS reported about Melina Leyva, whose home has been struck three times by vandals.

The superintendent says they’re now considering building a fence near the area what the two properties meet.
