SAN JUAN – Coins and sacrifice helped bring back the Basilica of Our Lady San Juan del Valle to life after a plane crash in the ‘80s.

Now, those credited with helping rebuild the shrine are being celebrated at the annual Migrant Festival.

The event has become a community effort and many volunteers, either former workers themselves or of families who’ve worked in agriculture up north, gather to keep the tradition alive.
