MISSION - A Mission native is in Australia helping firefighters from across the country battle the massive wildfires.

Rey Navarro is the only U.S.Fish and Wildlife firefighter selected from Texas to help in the effort. That's according to the City of Mission.

Firefighters have been able to turn from defense to offense for the first time in weeks. The situation on the ground is still critical.
