Nearly 800 Pounds of Marijuana Found in Cucumber Shipment
PHARR – Seven hundred and ninety pounds of marijuana was discovered hidden in a cucumber cargo at the Pharr International Bridge last week.
On Wednesday, Jan. 17, a tractor-trailer hauling produce was referred to secondary inspection.
With the help of a K9 team, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found 285 packages of alleged pot within the consignment.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $158,000.
CBP said the narcotics were seized.
