HARLINGEN –The IRS says small business owners should be made aware of recent changes in the law that could benefit them in the long run.

Marta Baker has been running a spa and salon in Harlingen for three years.

She says she wants to expand her business but adding taxes to the mix of payments makes it harder to hire more people.

KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey reached out to the IRS to see if there is relief in store for Barker.

IRS Spokesperson Raphael Tulino says a new law will start to offer a significant 20 percent tax cut on income for small businesses.

He adds the best thing anyone can do is to study new small business taxes laws.
