Pharr Police Department earns prestigious state accreditation
The Pharr Police Department has earned accreditation through the Texas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, a recognition given to agencies that meet the highest standards in professionalism, accountability and operational excellence.
The Texas Police Chiefs Association will formally present the accreditation during a city commission meeting Tuesday at 4 p.m. at city hall.
The department is now one of less than two percent of law enforcement agencies statewide to hold this status. It is also just the fourth accredited agency in the Rio Grande Valley and the third in Hidalgo County to reach this milestone.
The Texas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program evaluates agencies on policies, procedures, training, leadership, accountability and professional standards.
