Starr County school districts to receive $11.1 million in federal funds
More than $11.1 million in federal education funding is heading to Starr County school districts.
The money comes through Title I, a federal program that sends resources to schools serving students from low-income families, according to a news release from U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar.
Rio Grande City Grulla Independent School District will receive $7.2 million, Roma Independent School District will get $3.8 million and San Isidro Independent School District will receive $126,040.
Schools can use the funds for additional instruction, academic support and other programs that help students meet state academic standards.
