WESLACO – Law enforcement is warning to think twice before including gunfire in your New Year's Eve celebrations.

State Representative Armando Martinez was hit in the head by a bullet during celebratory gunfire three years ago.

Police say anyone who fires a weapon in the air could be held criminally accountable if the round fired hit someone or causes damage to someone's property.
