Starr County, TX (KRGV) — Starr County is investigating after a county jail transportation unit crashed on U.S. Highway 83, according to the Starr County Sheriff's Office.

Law enforcement was transporting an inmate from Hidalgo County to the Starr County jail

The sheriff's office said the crash happened on Wednesday and the inmate and detention officers were hospitalized.

The extent of their injuries were unknown.
