PENITAS – The Agua Special Utilities District declared a state of emergency after thousands of customers experienced little to no water pressure.

Customers affected are now forced to budget their water.

“It's happened where there's no water at all for several hours. It's the main time where people are coming home on a Saturday. Most people work until six or seven, you come home and there's no water,” says Penitas resident Ladislao Morales.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro reached out to Agua SUD General Manager Jose Saenz about the issue.

He explains necessary additions for the current system won’t be added until next year.
