BROWNSVILLE – A trial date is set for a man accused in the 2007 murder of a Harlingen teen.  

Ruben Torres is charged in the death of his then girlfriend, 13-year-old Abigail Estrada. He will head to trial on Monday.

The announcement of the trial date happened Friday morning at the Cameron County courthouse.

Although Estrada’s body hasn’t been found, a grand jury indicted Torres in 2015.

He was 17 at the time of the alleged murder but was certified to stand trial as an adult.
