LOS FRESNOS – A Rio Grande Valley family wants to know why they weren’t notified when crews forced through their property.

The Hernandez's say AEP Texas crews made their way through the family’s backyard to repair a transformer.

"They came through my property without permission,” says resident Alexandria Hernandez. "It’s not right for them, coming to our property.”

Hernandez believes the vehicle the crews used to get through the backyard caused damage to her driveway and front yard so she filed a police report.

KRGV’s Angelo Vargas contacted AEP Texas about the issue.

Under their policy, an AEP representative has the right to access property at any hour if it’s to restore service.
