LAS VEGAS - It will be a short stay in Las Vegas for the basketball teams of UTRGV.  Success was elusive at the WAC Conference Tournament for both squads, as both lost in the opening round of action.  The men, trying to snap a nine-game losing streak that had closed the regular season, responded by taking UMKC to overtime on Thursday night.  The extra effort fell short on the scoreboard in an 82-78 defeat.  CHANNEL 5's Brandon Ortega reported live from Las Vegas on CHANNEL 5 NEWS at 10:30.  Here is his report.
