TxDOT seeking feedback on new highway proposal in Starr County
The Texas Department of Transportation held a Dec. 2 groundbreaking on a new relief route between Rio Grande City and Roma.
TxDOT is now looking at extending the route into Hidalgo County, but they want to hear from you first.

A feasibility study on the proposed extension for State Loop 195 will be discussed at two in person meetings in Edinburg and Rio Grande City, according to a news release.
The proposal would extend State Loop 195 from Rio Grande City to Edinburg.
The first in-person meeting is set for Wednesday, Dec. 17 at the Rio Grande City High School cafeteria at 5726 N. FM 755 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Another meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Edinburg North High School cafeteria at 3101 N. Closner Blvd. from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A virtual meeting will also be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. on the TxDOT website.
