BROWNSVILLE – The Pace boys basketball team is coming off their first district title in 16 years.

With the roster undergoing some major turnover, the Vikings are doing their best to adjust to some new faces and a new game plan.

“We lost height inside,” said senior Jose Salinas. “So now we have to shoot the ball more outside and just work with what we have.”

“It’s a young team and we’re trying to find our identity,” said head coach Jose Luis Ramirez. “Every team, every year is different. Whatever our strengths were last year, that’s out the window. We have to find our strength this year and find out where we need to be.”

Pace will finish their non-district schedule against PSJA North and PSJA Memorial. After that, the Vikings play their district opener December 30 against Mercedes.
