WESLACO – The city of Weslaco says they’re ready to deploy teams in case of emergencies due to the heavy rainfall.

After the June’s flooding event, the Weslaco Police Department purchased three high-water vehicles to use during future flood response situations.

For now, only five police officers with military backgrounds are designated to operate the equipment.

KRGV’s Carolina Cruz has more details on how they’ll be used.
