3 Accused of Kidnapping in Harlingen

HARLINGEN – Three people are accused of kidnapping a Harlingen business owner at gunpoint. The crime happened in late February.
According to Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio, 44-year-old Alejandro Carrillo held his former employer hostage at Adams Gardens Wholesale Nursery in Harlingen. We’re told Carrillo then forced him into a black vehicle at gunpoint and left the business.
The victim was released later that same day unharmed.
The sheriff said at the time, it was crucial to find Carrillo, who’s a Mexican national and may have fled to the country. Lucio told CHANNEL 5 NEWS authorities wanted to make sure he didn’t know they were looking for him.
“It is a challenge, but it worked out for us this time,” said the sheriff.
Carrillo was arrested. Elizabeth Alvarado and Juan Ibarra were also charged with aggravated kidnapping. Each faces a bond of $750,000.
