DHR Health is working to offer better options for breast cancer treatment and screenings.
DHR officials say the hospital is on the path of adopting two studies for breast cancer research called the I-SPY and Wisdom study to offer better comprehensive risk assessments.
"The high risk of breast cancer and Hispanic women and Latino women is the highest," said DHR Health CEO and President of Research Dr. Sohail Rao. "It's about twenty percent."

Rao, joined by Dr. Laura Esserman, a general surgeon from the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, discussed a more efficient way to prevent cancer.
"When you participate in a study, you are actually making sure that tomorrow's treatments are here today," Esserman said. "You get a chance to be in the Van Guard. [To] be the people who are doing the new and more tailored and more personalized treatments. This is an opportunity for us to make sure that the population that are in this study really represents the women who are affected in this country."
DHR officials say both studies are undergoing review and are expected to start in the next couple of weeks.
