DPS Investigate Deadly Head-On Crash in Mercedes

MERCEDES – State authorities are investigating a head-on crash in Mercedes.

The accident was reported early Wednesday morning along FM 1425 north of Mile 12 North Road.

According to a press release issued by the Department of Public Safety, around 6:00 a.m., a Nissan Rogue going southbound slammed into a GMC Sierra.

The driver, 30-year-old Crystal Anthony Arriaga of Raymondville, died at the scene.

The person in the other vehicle was taken to the hospital; injuries unknown.

DPS is further investigating the crash.
