Fight Breaks Out between Several Minors at Local Detention Center
EDINBURG – Authorities believe there’s a gang problem at a local juvenile detention center following a fight that took place.
A report of a brawl including 33 people was released by the Office of Independent Ombudsman.
The communications director at Evins Regional Juvenile Center says 33 people were outside during the fight but only 10 were involved; no serious injuries were reported.
KRGV’s John Paul Barajas met with an expert to find out more.
He says it’s an issue that has plagued the Rio Grande Valley for decades.
